LEAD SHIM PLATES ARE USED TO REDUCE AND LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF RADIATION THE DETECTOR RECEIVES.  

6mm LEAD DIVIDES THE AMOUNT OF RADIATION  RECEIVED BY +-50%.

  1. LEAD SHIM PLATES CAN BE USED WHEN THE SOURCE IS TO POWERFUL FOR THE CURRENT DETECTOR. SCINTILLATION DETECTORS USE A LESS POWERFUL ISOTOPES THEN THE MODERN IONIZATION CHAMBERS. 

  2. SOME SOURCE CONTAINERS ALLOW CALIBRATION PLATES TO BE BUILD UP IN THE CALIBRATION AND STANDARDISE POSITION TO MATCH A SPECIFIC DENSITY.  

  3. SHIM PLATES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR SPECIFIC ISOTOPES CONTAINERS OR DIRECTORS.

  4. SHIM PLATES ARE AVAILABLE IN STANDARD 6mm THICKNESS.
    CAL STAINLESS STEEL PLATES ARE AVAILABLE IN THICKNESS 1 and 2mm
    CAL LEAD PLATES ARE AVAILABLE IN IN THICKNESS 3 and 6mm

  5. ON REQUEST DIFFERENT SHIM PLATES CAN BE MANUFACTURED
